    Hank (Formerly Scottie)

BEFORE AFTER
MY STORY

Hank came into our shelter as Scottie, one of seven dogs found abandoned in a box in Nicholasville in August of 2018. He and his littermates were cold, scared, and aching for a family of their own. That was when his new furever family stepped forward and gave him a home, where he is now given all of the love and attention he could ever crave.

"This is Hank....formerly Scottie. He was adopted as a puppy in August. His favorite thing to do is to snuggle on the couch (that he’s not supposed to be on) with his brother!"

    Star

BEFORE AFTER
MY STORY

Star came into our shelter with nine other animals as a surrender from a hoarder. She had not been given proper attention in such a cramped living environment and was a very shy and timid girl. However, as time passed and we worked with Star, it became clear that under her shy mask was an affectionate, forgiving dog who had a lot of love to share. She trained at the BarkBurn: A New Leash on Life program and then was ready for her forever home with the Fisher family. Here is what they had to say about Star in her new home:

"Star was very shy and it has taken her a while to adjust to meeting new people. She is now a very spoiled girl and spends her days chasing goats, running through fields at high speeds (like a greyhound) and cuddles on the couch. She has been the perfect fit for our family and we are greateful to you all for introducing us!" - Sara, Sam & Star Fisher

Sophia "Skinnygirl"

   Sophia "Skinnygirl"

BEFORE AFTER
MY STORY
Sophia came to our shelter in August of 2015 severely emaciated. A citizen had found her near a dumpster in Nicholasville and brought her to the shelter after seeing the dismal state she was in. The community came together to find support for the dog and a pair of local business owners agreed to foster her during recovery. After spending hours upon hours of their time helping Sophia overcome several health issues, they fell in love with her sweet personality and decided to adopt her. She now enjoys life at a healthy weight in her forever home.
